LONDON, ONTARIO: The London Knights are pleased to announce that defenseman Olli Maatta has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.  A first-round draft pick and 22^nd overall selection at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in June, Maatta attended the Penguins’ annual prospect development camp this past July.

A 1^st overall draft pick for the London Knights in the 2011 CHL Import Draft, Maatta appeared in 58 regular season games and all 19 playoff games and Memorial Cup tournament games for the Knights last season scoring 11 goals and tallying 55 points.  The Jyvaskyla, Finland native also had the chance to represent Team Finland for the second time at the U20 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Alberta this past Christmas and also Captained Team Finland at the US National Development Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, NY this past August.
