The Ontario Hockey League announced the three 2016-17 All-Star teams on Wednesday, as Tyler Parsons, Cliff Pu and Olli Juolevi were the three Knights players named OHL All-Stars. The players selected to the All-Star Teams were voted on by the General Managers around the league.
Goaltender Tyler Parsons received the most votes amongst the three Knights selected, coming in with 27 vote points to earn him a spot on the second All-Star team. The Calgary Flames draft choice posted a 23-6-2-3 record with a 2.37 GAA and a .925 SV% through 34 games this past season and led Team U.S.A. to a Gold Medal at the World Juniors. This is his first OHL All-Star team selection.
Cliff Pu and Olli Juolevi both earned a spot on the third All-Star team, with Pu receiving 25 vote points and Juolevi earning 22. Cliff Pu had a career year after being selected 69th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. The third year forward finished 8th amongst league leaders in points with 86 (35G, 51A) while playing in 63 games. This is his first OHL All-Star team selection.
Olli Juolevi was named a third team All-Star for a second consecutive year after being selected 5th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. The native of Helsinki, Finland posted 42 points (10G, 32A) in 58 games this past season, matching his point total from the year prior.
