After the Knights wrapped up the first weekend of the 2022-23 season with a pair of wins over the Sarnia Sting, eleven Knights will head out to various NHL rookie camps across the continent.
Newly drafted Isaiah George, Landon Sim, and Jackson Edward will attend their camps with their fresh new club. Both Sim and Edward attended orientation camps in the spring with the St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins. The New York Islanders did not host an orientation camp, making this George’s first time with the Islanders.
2020 draft picks Logan Mailloux, Max McCue, Bryce Montgomery, and Liam Gilmartin will also head out for another rookie camp. Mailloux will attend the Montreal Canadiens camp but will not participate on ice due to injury. Bryce Montgomery will head down south to Carolina for his second camp with the Hurricanes. Both Max McCue and Liam Gilmartin will attend the San Jose Sharks camp with former Knight Ryan Merkley (2019-20) also in attendance.
The Knights have four free agent attendees in Brett Brochu, Brody Crane, Gerard Keane, and Sean McGurn. Brochu who attended the Vancouver Canucks orientation camp was invited back for rookie camp. Both Brody Crane and Sean McGurn followed suit, attending Devils and Leafs orientation and earning themselves a spot back for rookie camp. Gerard Keane also got the invitation with the Arizona Coyotes after attending New York Rangers orientation in the spring.
