HARRINGTON SIGNS WITH PENGUINS

LONDON, ONTARIO: The London Knights are pleased to announce that defenseman Scott Harrington has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.  A second-round draft pick and 54th overall selection at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in June, Harrington attended the Penguins’ annual prospect development camp earlier this month.

A 1st round draft pick for the London Knights in the 2009 OHL draft, Harrington has appeared in 122 regular season games for the Knights and has a total of 7 goals and 29 assists with a plus-11 rating over his regular season OHL career.

Harrington will be in Edmonton and Ft. McMurray, Alberta on August 3rd-7th to participate in Canada’s National Junior Team Summer Development Camp with the hopes of making the 2012 Canadian World Junior Team.  The Kingston, Ontario native will rejoin the London Knights for 2011 training camp at the end of August.
