KNIGHTS ALUMNI FACING OFF IN STANLEY CUP FINALS

In a few short weeks, a London Knights alumni will win a Stanley Cup for the 8th year in a row.

This year it will either be Nazem Kadri or Corey Perry & Patrick Maroon. The Avalanche and Lightning will face off in the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Finals. The Lightning will look to make history and be the first team to win three straight Stanley Cups in the modern era while the Avalanche will look to win their first since 2001.

Nazem Kadri, spent two years in the Knights organization in the late 2000’s, coming over from a trade with rival Kitchener Rangers, is looking for his first Stanley Cup. Kadri’s health heading into the finals will be a question mark as he was injured after a late hit in the Western Conference Finals.

Corey Perry is known as one of the most memorable London Knights to ever wear the green & gold, is back in the Finals for the third straight year. Perry will look to be on the winning side of this time around after falling just short in the last two with Montreal and Dallas.

Patrick Maroon will look to make history of his own. Maroon is on the hunt for his fourth consecutive Stanley Cup. Winning his first with the Blues in 2019 and repeating in 2020 & 2021. Maroon will look to be the first player in the NHL salary cap era to win 4 straight Stanley Cups.

Despite the outcome, the London Knights repertoire of producing NHL players is on full display in this year’s finals will be on full display.
